<p>Last night we reported on a exclusive Nike press conference taking place in West Covina, Calif., and the company just confirmed the future is now: Marty McFly's signature shoe from the "Back to the Future" series, code-named the Nike Air Mag, will become a reality starting <i>tonight</i> at 8:30 p.m. PT.</p><shortcode shortcode="image" uuid="2170468c-fdbf-11e2-8c7c-d4ae52e62bcc" size="medium" float="right" image-caption="Tinker Hatfield's preliminary sketch of the Nike Air Mag 2011" image-credit="NiceKicks" image-alt-text="" image-target-url="" image-credit-url="http://www.nicekicks.com/2011/09/nike-air-mag-officially-unveiled/" image-filename="sketch-mag-1.jpg" image-date-created="2011/09/08" edition="us"> </shortcode><p>The Air Mag shoes are a near identical replica to the original models <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCarA72PaDc" rel="nofollow">worn by Michael J. Fox</a> in the sequel to "Back to the Future," and represent the first pair of rechargeable sneakers from Nike.</p><p>Consistency with the original design exists across the shoe, from the upper contours to the glowing Nike emblem, but they don't feature power laces, contrary to early speculation.</p><p>Mark Parker, CEO of Nike, announced plans to auction off 1,500 pairs of the Air Mag aka "Marty McFly" shoe on eBay's Fashion Vault starting tonight at 8:30 p.m., with all net proceeds funneling directly into the <a href="http://www.michaeljfox.org/" rel="nofollow">Michael J. Fox Foundation</a> for Parkinson's research.</p><p>For the duration of the 10-day auction, Nike will auction off 150 of the shoes until all 1,500 pairs are sold.</p><p>"We wanted to translate the excitement people have for the 'greatest shoe never made' and for the 'Back to the Future' into positive action," said Parker. "But the long-term objective is to raise awareness so the Foundation can achieve their goal of eradicating Parkinson's disease."</p><p>Michael J.
