2026 is getting down to business, and if one of your New Year's resolutions is to read more, this is the deal for you. While there are plenty of e-readers that can make it easy for you to read your favorite books anywhere, anytime, not all of them are the same. Some of them, like the Kindle Scribe, let you take notes as well, but that doesn't come cheap.

Worry not, because I've spotted the Kindle Scribe for $120 off at Amazon right now. This brings it down to just $280.

While this isn't the latest model, it is considerably cheaper. The newer model might come with color support, but it also costs a whopping $680, too. That makes this older-gen model even more of a bargain -- but act fast, this price might not stick around for long. And you can save an additional 20% off by trading in your old Kindle, too.

This Kindle Scribe deal is for the 16GB configuration without Kindle Unlimited. It's only available in the tungsten color, but you can upgrade to more storage if you think you'll need it -- all models are on offer right now. The Scribe doesn't provide notifications or access to social media for distraction-free reading and note-taking.

Amazon even included an AI summarization feature so you can study, organize and skim your notes in a pinch. Need to study and love to write notes on the side of pages? This Kindle Scribe is equipped with Active Canvas, a feature that makes space for your notes and doodles on the page.

Additionally, a single charge is enough to let you write for weeks on end or read for months, making this device easy to maintain.

Why this deal matters

Amazon's Kindle Scribe was made for reading, writing and note-taking. Its battery can last for months, depending on use. On top of being up to $120 off, you can save an extra 20% if you have an eligible device to trade in. That makes this a great buy for students, bookworms and writers who want a device that can help them focus.
