The iPhone 17 might be the latest model on the market, but you don’t have to go that route to get a great smartphone. Apple’s iPhones last for years, which makes picking up a used model a smart way to save money. And it’s an even better idea when Back Market is offering recent models at standout prices.

Right now, Back Market is offering an extra 10% discount on select iPhones, including last year’s flagship iPhone 16 Pro Max for just $799. That’s $400 less than its original $1,199 launch price and well below Apple’s refurb store pricing.

If you’re in the market for the most phone for your money, the iPhone 16 Pro Max locked to Verizon is a strong pick. At $799, it's $400 cheaper than it was when sold new. That’s for a phone in premium condition, too, so you shouldn’t expect any bangs or scrapes here.

If you’re looking to spend less, the 128GB iPhone 16E, unlocked and in good condition, is just $383, more than $200 off the price you’d pay at the Apple Store.

Somewhere in the middle, the 128GB iPhone 16 Plus offers that big-screen experience for just $472 in good condition, over $350 less than the price it would have cost new.

Keep in mind that these prices are volatile because stock comes and goes. There are plenty of different iPhones in different conditions available, so be sure to check out the full range if the three models mentioned above don’t quite hit the spot.

Why this deal matters

Buying used is one of the best ways to save on Apple devices, and these Back Market deals are prime examples. Currently, there's a 10% discount on specific models, and prices are hundreds lower than both the Apple refurb store and the original retail price, making it an excellent opportunity to upgrade your gadget without paying the full price.
