Every gamer needs a good headset or earbuds. Because no matter how great a gaming laptop you own, its speakers can't deliver sound with the power and precision you want or need. And even if you have a desktop rig and a good set of speakers, those you cohabitate with -- a spouse, significant other, sleeping child or roommate -- might not enjoy hearing the chatter, gunshots and explosions coming from your computer.

Amazon's Big Spring Sale doesn't start until Wednesday, but sale pricing has already begun. The Asus ROG Cetra True Wireless SpeedNova gaming earbuds are marked down to $150 for a savings of $70. The earbuds are available in black or white; only the black model is on sale at Amazon. They come with a free digital copy of Resident Evil Requiem, a $70 value.

While a set of earbuds might not have the full sound of an over-the-ear headset, it's more versatile. These earbuds are dual-mode, letting you switch between 2.4GHz for low-latency audio for gaming, and the convenience of Bluetooth for listening to music or talking on your phone. And they can be paired with two devices simultaneously via 2.4GHz and Bluetooth modes. In 2.4GHz mode, the earbuds offer high-res 24-bit/96kHz audio.

The ROG Cetra True Wireless SpeedNova features adaptive noise canceling so you can hear your game over the rambling of your roommate and bone-conduction AI microphones to help eliminate background noise when you're speaking. Asus says you'll get up to 46 hours of battery life, and it takes only a five-minute charge to add an hour of battery life.

Device support is broad. Bluetooth mode supports PC, Mac, iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch, while 2.4GHz mode supports PC, Mac, Android, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
