Amazon's Big Spring Sale has officially ended. But we're still keeping our eyes out for the biggest deals on smart home security tech, including video doorbells and security cameras. If you've been considering investing in smart home technology and security gear, this is your best chance for a while to nab something for less. But since Amazon's sale ended yesterday, these deals have started expiring fast.
We're still seeing huge discounts from Roku, Arlo and more at Amazon and other retailers such as Best Buy. If you're planning any trips or weekend getaways, you're going to want to make sure your home stays safe while you're out and about.
I've been digging through deals and I've found the ones that are worth your money, including several products I've tested myself and recommend. Fair warning, though: These prices are live right now, but these items go out of stock pretty quickly, and these discounts won't last forever. So if something catches your eye, grab it before it runs out or the price increases.
I'll keep updating this page alongside CNET's deals team as new offers pop up and prices change, so check back if you're not ready to buy just yet.
Best post Amazon Big Spring Sale security camera deals
In our hunt for the best home security systems, we've tested many security cameras. This one from Arlo stands out because of its simple setup and weather-resistant design.
I've tested the MagCam before; it's a powerful battery model for the outdoors (and I like the snap-on magnetic mounts). This version improves quality even further with 4K resolution but the real value here is the included solar panel, which helps keep the battery topped off so you don't need to recharge as often. Also, good news for those looking to save: Tapo supports local storage without a subscription.
If you're looking to grab an outdoor camera with its own lighting, this Reolink model is a pretty solid option. Along with 4K ultraclear wide-angle lenses, you'll get 355-degree pan and 50-degree tilt, which help accurately capture every inch of the action.
This indoor security camera streams in 1080p HD so you get a clear picture. It even keeps this high resolution in both live view and color night vision. My favorite part is the versatile swivel mount. You can park it on a table or tuck it high up for a wider view. Plus, plug-in power keeps it easy to move around.

Tapo is known for its budget smart devices that still typically deliver solid performance. This doorbell is a good example, with its keypad and fingerprint combination that supports Alexa and Google Home. You can create guest access, set auto-locks, view log histories and manage other important lock features. The only thing I don't like here is the rechargeable battery, which requires a USB-C charge every so often, but that's a small price to pay if you want to save money.
Forgetting your keys can be a problem of the past with August Home's smart lock, one of our favorite smart locks. With this device, you can easily access the door from your phone. It simply fits over the internal thumb latch of most existing deadbolt designs, allowing the use of the physical key if necessary. The smart lock is easy to set up. Using the August app, you can control, assign and authorize temporary virtual keys for access. It also has built-in Wi-Fi, and you can connect it to your home network through the app.
This package comes with two lever handles and a Philips lock. You have four easy ways to unlock it: with your fingerprint, a PIN code, a key or through the app. Just pick the method that works best for you. The built-in Bluetooth lets you conveniently access it with your smartphone (its range is about 8–10 meters).

These smart sensors let you regulate your home's temperature from your phone. You can see which areas of your home are cold or hot, plus it sends notifications to your device. It also detects motion near the sensor.
The Meross smart garage door opener makes garage access simple. You can use the companion app on your phone or tablet to control the garage door anywhere. It's compatible with Alexa, Google Gemini and Siri for a hands-free experience. The app even lets you set a schedule for when the door opens or closes. If you forget to close it, you can set it to automatically shut down if the door is open for a specified period of time.
These sensors almost act as a guard at your door and window. The sensors light up when movement is detected, so you don't miss anything. And of course, the alerts go right to your phone.

The Google Nest Doorbell is one of the best smart doorbells on the market. In fact, CNET home security expert Tyler Lacoma uses it in his own home. He loves how "updated AI recognition qualities are getting even better as Google incorporates its Gemini AI into Google Home."
Two sensors may not seem like a lot for a security system but Arlo's kit ranks high on my suggestions for renters and anyone who wants an effective, minimalist system with great app controls. The secret is that those sensors house eight functions, from sensing motion and open/close situations to monitoring temperature, CO levels and even water leaks. Put them wherever you have an issue you want to target. The keypad has multiple disarm options and you can include a fob that works with Arlo's doorbell, too.
This smart dimmer replaces the traditional three-way light switches found in most homes. You can adjust lighting on your phone through the Tapo or Kasa app. This not only delivers energy savings but a lot of added convenience.

When did the Amazon Big Spring Sale happen?
This year, the sale ran from March 25 to 31. That means the sale ended yesterday.
Did you need a Prime membership to shop the sale?
No, a Prime membership wasn't required to participate. That said, Prime members typically get access to exclusive deals and perks like two-day shipping.
Did other retailers have a spring sale?
We saw competitors Best Buy, Target and Walmart offering their own versions of spring sales. A lot of the deals offered at Amazon were matched at other retailers as well. Keep your eyes open for member-exclusive deals at those stores, too, such as discounts for My Best Buy or Walmart Plus subscribers.
When's the best time to buy home security devices?
When a sale like the Amazon Spring Sale rolls around, that's usually the best time to check out any smart home device for discounts, including home security. The only tricky part is nabbing a great deal before supplies run out. If you see a notable deal, it's best to make a buying decision sooner rather than later, especially now that the sale is over.
How we choose the best security device deals
At CNET we have a team of expert shoppers and deal hunters with years of experience. Our goal is to make sure buyers understand which major sales and deals -- such as Black Friday, Prime Day, Memorial Day, Amazon's Big Spring Sale, and countless other shopping events -- are legitimately good and which are more routine. We've gotten good at weeding out scams and superficial deals so you see only the best offers on security devices from retailers all over.
We look for real discounts, quality reviews and remaining sale time when choosing a deal to show you.
- Real discounts mean exactly that. We look at the price history for that product to make sure no manufacturers are inflating prices to make discounts seem more substantial than they are.
- Reviews are important for any product, but especially for deeply discounted items. If an item breaks the first time you use it, the deal isn't a good one at any price.
- Remaining sale time is a huge part of our vetting process. If a deal seems like it will be around for only a short while or will be available only for the remaining stock, we'll let you know up front so you don't come back to the deal later only to be disappointed.
We keep our articles as up-to-date as possible to bring you the best current prices.
