While the iPhone 16 might not have all the latest features of the new iPhone 17 lineup, it still packs a solid punch in terms of power, features and battery life. You can also get some impressive discounts on it if you opt to purchase through carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.

Best deals for the iPhone 16
We'll continue updating the list below with the best iPhone 16 deals across all the major US retailers and carriers.
You can still buy iPhone 16 series phones directly from the Apple Store, and you could get up to $650 in credit if you have an old phone to trade-in. You'll also get 3% cash back if you make the purchase with your Apple Card.*
Adding a line on a qualifying unlimited plan at Verizon will save you $600 on the iPhone 16E, $730 on the basic iPhone 16, $830 on the iPhone 16 Plus and $900 on the iPhone 16 Pro. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is out of stock. These deals score you a basic configuration of any available model for free. Discounts are applied as bill credits over 36 months.
Xfinity customers adding a line or upgrading an existing one will get $400 off any iPhone 16 model and can save up to $1,100 when they also trade in an eligible device, scoring some basic configurations free. Plus, Xfinity is offering up to $500 to pay off existing contracts when switching from another carrier.
If none of this applies to you, you can also save $100 on the iPhone 16, no trade-ins, new lines or anything.
You can save money with best Buy by trading in an eligible device. Best Buy will also provide an extra discount of $100 if you allow it to connect your phone to a carrier.
With your purchase, you'll also get three free months of Apple Fitness Plus, Apple Music and Apple Arcade. You'll also get two free months of Apple TV. Finally, you'll score one month of Xbox GamePass Premium.
There are a few ways to score the phone for free at T-Mobile. For most plans at T-Mobile, including the Experience More, Experience Beyond, 55+ or Go5G plans, you can get the phone for free with either a new line or trade-in.
If you switch to T-Mobile from another carrier or from T-Mobile Metro, you can also get up to $630 off with most plans, that'll net you the iPhone 16 for free. Just note, you'll get the discount over 24 months of bill credits.
If you purchase the phone on an unlimited installment plan, you can knock over $400 off the phone. That means the monthly payment goes from $20 per month to $8 per month. You'll get the savings through bill credits.
You can also knock $200 off by ordering online. That's a flat $200 discount. And if you break your current phone contract to join AT&T, you'll get up to $800 off, getting you the phone for free.
When did the iPhone 16 launch?
Apple's iPhone 16 and 16 Pro lineup hit stores in September 2024, while the iPhone 16E was released in February 2025. You can now pop into any retailer that sells the iPhone -- like an Apple store, Best Buy or your mobile provider -- and buy from their remaining stock.
Use the Apple Store app to select the model, storage and color you like and check availability at your nearest physical Apple store. You'll also find the lineup at all major carriers. We've highlighted those offers below.

How do I order the iPhone 16?
You can shop for the iPhone 16 series at nearly all online retailers and carriers, as well as at brick-and-mortar locations.
First, decide which model iPhone you want to buy: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max or iPhone 16E. Then, select your preferred color and storage capacity and decide if you'll trade in an older iPhone, which could get you up to $700 back from Apple.
Then, choose an optional carrier and AppleCare Plus coverage (or not) and click the blue Add to Bag button. You can then include any accessories you want and enter your payment information to complete the purchase.

How do iPhone 16 trade-in offers work?
Some carriers are offering up to $1,000 on eligible trade-ins, which could net you a free iPhone 16 Pro. One important thing to keep in mind is that most trade-in deals from carriers require you to become a customer and they often apply to the priciest plan options.
Select retailers with trade-in programs could offer gift cards toward future purchases instead, so you don't necessarily have to be locked into a contract to take advantage of the savings you can get from parting with your old device. However, those offers may not provide as much of a deal as traditional trade-in offers.
