You are never too old to play with Lego bricks. You can play with them as a kid, with a kid or just as an adult. I know plenty of grown-ups who find building Lego kits a relaxing hobby, akin to doing a puzzle. And I'll be the first to admit that, after more than 40 years of playing with Lego sets, it's addictive. And that means it can get expensive.
Enter Bricktember, an epic sale at Walmart on Lego sets throughout September. There are over 100 sets on sale, some of which are as much as half off. These range from Lego Technic to Duplo to Creator sets. I've highlighted several sets below that I've already added to my cart.
This set contains two massive builds. The first 598-piece kit contains everything you need to build Carl's colorful house from Up, including the balloons, rooms and accessories. It also comes with two minifigs (Carl and Russell), along with Dug the dog. You will also get an 811-piece set that includes WALL-E, EVE, M-O and Hal, all with posable heads, rolling tracks and more.
This 352-piece set lets gamers get off the screen and into some hands-on building and interactive fun. It includes an Orc Warrior, a ghast that shoots discs, a hoglin with a butting head and more. Construct the mushroom-filled trees of the Crimson Forest or the rocky crags of the Basalt Deltas.
With a whopping 1,392 pieces, this epic set will keep your builders entertained for hours while building and then acting out Super Mario scenarios. Build a detailed train, two stations and a handcar and play with six Lego Super Mario figures.
- Lego City car transporter truck: $65 (save $35). Nearly 1,000 pieces, including the bricks to build multiple sports cars and a truck to transport them to a nearby racetrack.
- Lego Technic NASA Apollo lunar roving vehicle: $150 (save $70). For the space nerds out there, this collectible set has 1,913 pieces, so it's sure to occupy anyone for quite some time.
- Lego Duplo Disney Pixar Cars: $35 (save $15). Chubby little hands can build Mack and Lightning McQueen.
- Lego Minecraft The Fox Lodge: $14 (save $6). Another great set that's less than $15; it even includes a Drowned Zombie figure.
- Lego Disney Frozen Elsa's Ice Palace: $68 (save $32). Recreate the ice castle brick by brick and then play with the Anna and Elsa minifigs.
- Lego New York City Statue of Liberty and Skyline bundle: $125 (save $55). This two-kit bundle includes everything you need to make a replica Statue of Liberty and construct the New York Skyline.
- Lego City vehicle bundle: $116 (save $49). This three-kit set includes an emergency air ambulance, a fire rescue plane and an excavator.
There are dozens more to choose from. Pro tip: head to the Bricktember landing page at Walmart and use the search engine to type in your favorite characters or sets to find out what is on sale.

Why this deal matters
Even though it's only September, the holidays are around the corner. With more than 100 sets on sale, now is a great time to pick up a Lego kit or two at a decent discount. We do often see Lego sets go on sale during Black Friday, but there aren't many events between now and then.
