Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Controller in black
Xbox/CNET

You may have already received a controller with your Xbox Series X in the box, but nothing compares to an Elite controller. Microsoft's own Xbox Elite Series 2 Core controller comes with all of the bells and whistles you'll need to take your gaming experience to the next level. What's better is that it's on sale for 25% off right now, bringing it down to just $98 at Amazon.

The white variant with no add-ons is the model that's currently on sale. Choosing the black version will cost a lot more ($172), but it does come with some cool accessories, including a carrying case, a set of six thumbsticks, a set of four paddles, a thumbstick adjustment tool, a charging dock and a USB-C cable.

Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money.

The Xbox Elite Series 2 Core controller boasts 40 hours of battery life per charge, as well as the option to swap in all those extra sticks and paddles that aren't available for the standard controllers. You'll also be able to choose between three custom profiles on the controller, so you can share it with others who prefer a different configuration, too.

Why this deal matters

The Xbox Elite Series 2 Core controller normally costs a good chunk of change -- about $130 if you opt for the cheapest version without additional accessories. Being able to pick it up less than $100 is a steal, especially considering regular Xbox controllers cost between $60 to $70. This is a fantastic deal you don't want to miss out on if you're looking to upgrade your gaming experience without splurging on something like a new 4K TV.
