Amazon just dropped the price on the Nintendo Switch edition of Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to $62. Tier 1 Nintendo games rarely see substantial discounts, but this deal is just one dollar more than the game's all-time low price on Amazon. Tears of the Kingdom was released in 2023 and remains one of our favorite Nintendo Switch games, so grab it with this early Amazon Big Spring Sale deal if you don't own it already.
This price is for the version that works with original Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite or Switch OLED consoles. However, if you have a Nintendo Switch 2 and don't yet own Tears of the Kingdom, you can snag this deal and the game's $10 Switch 2 upgrade pack and save $8 over the cost of buying the full Switch 2 version. The upgrade pack optimizes the game's graphics and frame rate for play on the new console.
Fans of previous Zelda games will enjoy Tears of the Kingdom. It includes some new features and abilities, including Ultrahand, which lets you pick up, move or rotate almost any object in the game. You can also use the Fuse ability to magically fuse an object to Link’s current weapon, shield or arrow. You can create different combination with Fuse to increase durability and damage.
CNET writer Tyler Graham wrote that "the design choices in this game advance everything that made its predecessor special," noting that Tears of the Kingdom "entertainingly remixes" the setting of the game with floating islands and a new underworld.
