If you're waiting until after Thanksgiving to start shopping the hottest Black Friday deals, you're already behind. Tons of retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and more are now competing with one another to give you the best prices. Even Lego is joining in, which is great news for anyone who loves to relax through play. This weekend kicks off Lego's Insiders weekend sale event. Lego is offering major savings on Disney-, Star Wars- and Marvel-themed sets, as well as other awesome sets that will provide a challenging and creative outlet.

Along with discounts on sets and toys, you can score free Lego items with purchase. And even better, you can earn double the amount of points than normal. With every $100 you spend, you get 1,300 points (that's equal to $10). Members can also enjoy select rewards for only 100 points as well. It's the perfect time to start on your holiday shopping list as these discounts are hard to beat.

To help you find the best offers, our CNET team of dedicated shopping experts has put in hundreds of hours each week sifting through pages and pages of Black Friday deals. We focus on trusted brands and products we've reviewed to help ensure your hard-earned money goes a little farther this year.

Use your points to score sweet collectibles and items before the best ones run out of stock. For as little as 100 points, Lego is offering Insiders up to 28 different items, while having a decent variety for members who have racked up points in the thousands. You can trade in 2,400 points to get the Marine Chronometer set or use the same amount of points for the newly added Tic Tac Toe set.

When is the Black Friday sale?

Black Friday is on Nov. 29 this year. However, most retailers have already launched their Black Friday sales, so there are tons of deals you can start shopping now.

The savings will continue well after Nov. 29, too. The Black Friday sale takes us right into Cyber Week beginning on Cyber Monday, Dec. 2. You're likely to see many of the same discounts continuing through Cyber Week and even some brand-new offers. However, there is no guarantee that deals live on Black Friday will still be available during Cyber Week. So if you see something you like, don't wait.

Do I need to be a Lego Insider member for the discounts?

Yes. In order to be eligible for almost all the discounts during Lego's Insider sale, you must be a member. A lot of the offers, such as extra points, are only for members as well. The good news is it is free to sign up for a Lego Insider membership. If you don't want to do that, you can still find some Lego discounts for Black Friday at a different retailer like Amazon or Target, but keep in mind they won't top these offers.
