Our expert reviewer called these the most unique and unusual earbud design he's seen in years -- and that's a good thing.

Earbuds are a crucial part of day-to-day life. From commuting to work to exercising at the gym to everything in between, many of us rely on our earbuds heavily. And Bose knows what it's doing when it comes to giving the people what they want with their audio. That's why you might want to get your hands on these Bose Ultra Open earbuds, which are now back to their record-low price.

Right now you can snag these earbuds at Amazon for just $249, down from the standard price of $299. Prefer to shop directly from Bose? You can scoop them up for the same price there, and with many more color options available, too. Bose says this deal will last until Jan. 20, and we assume Amazon will follow suit, so grab yours now if you're interested.

Only on the market since February, this is now the lowest price we've seen for these earbuds. Alongside their immersive audio quality, they feature a 48-hour battery life, IPX4 water resistance, multipoint Bluetooth and flexible joint and hook for comfortable wearing.

Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money.

"The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds have one of the most unique and unusual designs of any earbuds I've seen over the last several years," CNET tech expert David Carnoy wrote in his review. "They literally clip onto the side of your ears and feature an open design with micro speakers that fire sound into your ears while still being able to hear what's happening around you.

He added: "At $299, they're overpriced, but otherwise there's a lot to like about them, including a surprisingly comfortable, secure fit and very good sound quality for open buds." So thanks to this $50 discount, one of the only criticisms found in our hands-on review has been solved. Just be sure to grab a pair before the offer expires or stock runs out.

Not your style? We've rounded up the latest headphone deals, where you can find discounts on AirPods, Bose, Sony and other top brands.

Why this deal matters

The last time we saw these earbuds discounted was during the Black Friday sale event. During that event, they were marked down to the same price of $249. Though it's only a $50 discount, it's the best price we've yet seen for this model. This deal is set to expire in a few days, Jan. 20, so if you're interested, it's probably better to grab yours now before stock sells out or the deal expires.
