I liked the Dell Inspiron 16 Plus 7640 when I reviewed it this summer as a budget pick for creators looking for a 16-inch laptop backed by RTX graphics. It packages a 2.5K IPS display with an Intel Core Ultra CPU and an RTX 4060 GPU for a reasonable $1,500. And I like it even more right now because Dell has slashed its price by $400 for Cyber Monday.

It's unusual to find a laptop with RTX 4060 graphics at this low of a price -- most laptops at or near $1,000 feature integrated graphics or an RTX 4050 at best. And it also includes a 1TB SSD to give creators room to store their photo and video files.

The Inspiron 16 Plus 7640 I tested is the same configuration that's on sale. It performed well, with strong application and graphics scores. And it did so without sacrificing efficiency, running for nearly 12 hours on our battery test. That's a good runtime for a Windows laptop with a 16-inch display with a fairly high resolution.

The biggest drawback with the Inspiron 16 Plus 7640 is its lack of an OLED display option. The 2.5K IPS panel is fine for most people, but serious creators and graphics pros will probably want the superior contrast and color accuracy an OLED provides. For hobbyists looking for a laptop with a roomy display and RTX power for a low price, however, the Inspiron 16 Plus 7640 serves up a ton of value at its Cyber Monday sale price of just $1,100.
