The TCL Note A1 NxtPaper recently launched at $700, but during the Amazon Spring Sale, it has dropped to $550. That's a solid discount for a device that has just hit the market and is already getting plenty of attention. Though this deal may not last long, so snag it while you can.

If you're the type who fills notebooks with ideas, class notes or sketches, this tablet aims to replace that stack of paper. It even made some waves at CES 2026 and Mobile World Congress 2026, thanks to its display and creator-focused tools.

At the center of it all is TCL's NxtPaper Pure display, designed to feel more like writing on paper. The matte screen cuts glare and reflections, which helps during long study sessions or brainstorming. The included T-Pen Pro stylus supports 8,192 pressure levels for precise handwriting and drawing.

Under the hood, it's meant to be a productivity device as much as a note-taker. Built-in AI tools handle handwriting recognition, transcription and even summarizing notes. There's also 256GB of storage and a large 8,000-mAh battery, plus optional keyboard and flip cases if you want a more laptop-like setup.

If you're still not sure, compare how the NxtPaper stacks up to some of the best E-Ink tablets we've tested. We've also rounded up the best Apple iPads from the Amazon Spring Sale, if you're looking for more tablet discounts to browse.

Why this deal matters

Despite the many advantages of an E-Ink tablet, the $700 price tag is steep. And if you're a student, creative or someone who prefers writing things down but doesn't want to lug around a notebook, this price drop makes the NxtPaper a more practical alternative. It's also the largest price drop we've seen on the tablet, which is still a new release.
