It's the eve of Cyber Monday which means if you didn't have a chance to shop during Black Friday blowouts, you're in luck. Especially if you're in the market for a new televison. Among the sea of offers, Best Buy's dramatic price slashing on the 65-inch TCL QM9K smart TV is a standout. Usually priced at $3,000, it's down to $1,500 right now. That's half off the TV that CNET's expert reviewer called "the brightest TV yet."

In his review of the TCL QM9K, TV and home video editor Ty Pendlebury noted that the brightness of this mini-LED screen rivals -- and even surpasses -- other OLED screen TVs he's tested. "The TCL QM9K is currently the brightest TV I've ever tested in the CNET lab," writes Pendlebury.

He notes that this model "performs similarly to Sony's OLED," offers "excellent brightness" and has no issues with backlight blooming (when light bleeds into the display's darker areas). This is partly due to TCL's Halo Control system, a new feature introduced in their 2025 televisions, designed to reduce backlight bleed overall.

"The QM9K uses 6,000 local dimming zones (up from the QM8K's 5,000) in its mini-LED backlight," explains Pendlebury. Translation? The TV is able to simultaneously dim and brighten different areas on the screen, which increases the picture's contrast and improves its quality.

In addition to the bright screen, you'll get other features like Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, which produce decent sound quality -- though you'll likely want to add a soundbar for a more immersive viewing experience. The TV also comes equipped with Google TV and Gemini, Google's AI assistant.
