For some gamers, getting the latest and greatest console is a must, and as such, the new Nintendo Switch 2 has been flying off the shelves since its June release. But at $450 -- or $500 for the Mario Kart World bundle -- it's expensive. And now that Nintendo has announced that it's raising original Switch prices because of market conditions, the chances of getting a previous-gen model at a lower cost have decreased significantly.

The Switch OLED is going up to $400, but right now Walmart has both the red/blue and the white versions of the console for just $299, making this an excellent deal for those not upgrading to the Switch 2.

The Nintendo Switch OLED is an upgrade over the standard Switch console if you're a fan of handheld gaming thanks to its 7-inch OLED display and doubled 64GB of storage. Additionally, its kickstand and speakers are improved over the standard version, too, and an added Ethernet port to the dock is a welcomed enhancement.

If you're not overly particular about getting the latest device, you may want to skip the expensive Switch 2 for now and opt for this deal instead. You'll still be able to play some of the best games Nintendo has offered in the past decade and you'll beat the planned price increases caused by tariffs.
