Nintendo fans far and wide will be well aware that discounts on first-party video games from the Japanese games-maker are increasingly hard to come by. This goes double for its most popular titles. That's why we're highlighting this offer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, now only $47 on Woot. While that $23 doesn't seem like a lot at first, it's the biggest discount the online retailer has applied to the Switch game since it was first launched.

Serving as a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild, the latest Zelda game follows Link on a quest to find Zelda and prevent the Gerudo warlock, Ganondorf, from destroying the kingdom of Hyrule. It's a massive open-world action-adventure featuring hundreds of hours of gameplay, a playground of puzzles and creativity, as well as some thrilling boss battles.

A 33% discount for what this game entails is more than fair considering the quality. Most notably, the game introduces a bunch of new abilities where you can build various structures and vehicles that can work on land, water, or air. It also expands Hyrule by adding in the sky islands and the expansive underground, making it one of the biggest open worlds ever.

Why this deal matters

Nintendo games rarely drop in price so when they do, we take notice. Tears of the Kingdom launched in May 2023 and is still commonly found at its full $70 cost. In fact, this is the cheapest price Woot has listed. For reference, the lowest we've ever seen was $30 for the digital version at Walmart during Black Friday 2024. That sold out incredibly fast and we don't expect to see anything close to that amount until the next Black Friday rolls around. Nintendo might re-release Tears of the Kingdom for Switch 2, though nothing is confirmed yet. So right now, this is the best you can get -- and likely will be for some time.
