Lucid's platform bed frame and upholstered headboard.
Lucid

Lucid is recalling around 137,000 platform beds with upholstered headboards due to fall and injury hazards. An additional 890 were sold in Canada. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, 245 reports of bed frames breaking, sagging or collapsing while being used have resulted in 18 confirmed contusions and bruising injuries.

The platform bed frame, manufactured between 2019 and 2021, has a slatted base and a square upholstered headboard with tufted detailing. Lucid's frame was sold online at major retailers like Lucid, Macy's, Target and Walmart and in stores across the country. The recall affects all color options and sizes, from twin to California king.

If you have a Lucid platform bed with a headboard, check the white federal law label on the backside of the headboard to see if it has been recalled. Affected frames will have "Made For: CVB INC, 1525 W 2960 S, LOGAN, UT 84321" printed on the right side of the label. If your platform frame has been recalled, stop using it immediately to avoid injury.

The good news is that Lucid offers a free replacement for all recalled bed frames and headboards. The online form required for a replacement, gives you four options to choose from:

You must follow a few steps to report your recall and get your new frame.

  • Fill out Lucid's replacement product online form, including your contact information and which product you would like it replaced with.
  • Write "RECALLED" across the wooden slats of the frame with a permanent marker. Take a picture with the word visible and upload it to the form.
  • Please take a picture of the federal law label on the back of the headboard and upload it to the form.
  • Upload your proof of purchase to the form.

If you can not provide the images, you can email recall@lucidmattress.com for help. Once submitted, your order will be sent by ground shipping to your door.
