Score Breakdown
Pros and Cons
So you want a dense memory foam mattress, huh? That's all well and good, but let's be real -- in most cases, it'll cost you. In terms of a queen-size bed, the cheapest one from Tempur-Pedic these days retails for just shy of two grand. Things get more affordable with options like Nectar Premier, going for $950 after a discount -- but frankly, that's still pricey.
What if you're on a shoestring budget? I'm talking under $500 for your next memory foam bed. That's where options like the Novilla Bliss Memory Foam come in. This simple, all-foam mattress has a denser memory foam feel while staying within a frugal budget. In this review, I'll break it down to help you decide if it's the right fit for you.

First impressions of the Novilla Bliss mattress
Once the mattress arrived, we unboxed it right away. The process was quick -- we pulled it out of the box, unrolled the plastic and watched it expand. At first, it looked slightly misshapen, so we let it sit on the foundation overnight to fully inflate and take its true form.
One thing to note about especially cheap beds is that they often feel a bit "crustier" than pricier options. I know that sounds odd, and it's hard to describe without feeling it, but the Novilla Bliss had this quality during our initial tests. The cover had a slightly coarse feel and never fully smoothed out on one side. It seems our model had some quality control issues -- but hey, that's to be expected with a budget bed.
Novilla Bliss mattress firmness and feel
What does the Novilla Bliss mattress feel like?
As mentioned, this bed offers a dense memory foam sensation similar to a Tempur-Pedic mattress. If you press into the bed and let go, you'll notice its top layer is slow to respond, especially when compared to a neutral foam mattress. When you initially hop onto it, the bed feels pretty firm, but you'll slowly start to sink into the memory foam as it conforms to your body's shape.
This type of mattress isn't for everyone. Some love the body-cradling feel, while others find it restrictive when switching sleep positions. It doesn't respond quickly to movement, but if you tend to stay in one position overnight, it could help promote restful sleep.
How firm is the Wolf 12" Medium Firm mattress?
While it will soften up slightly as you sink in, it's not the softest bed out there. We found the Novilla Bliss to be on the firmer side of a medium-firm on our scale. This makes it best suited for the firm support needs of primary back and stomach sleepers.
If you're a side sleeper who wants an especially soft memory foam bed, this might not be your best option. There are three height profiles to choose from with this bed. We've mainly tested the 12-inch version, which is the softest version compared to the firmer six- and eight-inch models. You could get by sleeping on your side on this mattress, just so long as you prefer a firm bed.
Firmness is subjective and can vary from person to person -- you might experience a bed differently than I do. However, our Mattress Smasher 9000 objectively measures firmness. Using a precise pressure gauge, it rated the Novilla Bliss at 5.3 out of 10 -- much softer than we initially expected.
Novilla Bliss mattress construction
This is a 12'' all-foam mattress with a relatively simple foam construction. Here's what's going on under the hood:
- On the bottom, it starts off with a thick layer of support foam to provide the mattress with its overall base.
- Then, you've got a transition layer of what the brand dubs "Wave Foam," which is essentially an egg-crate transition foam designed to buffer between the support and comfort layers of the bed.
- Next there's another transition layer of comfort foam to give the mattress more pressure relief towards the top.
- On top of that, there's a gel memory foam, which gives the mattress its main comfort layer and viscous memory foam feel.
- Wrapping all these elements up is a bamboo fiber cover to help regulate sleeping temperature -- again, it doesn't look too great on our model.
Novilla Bliss mattress performance
Motion isolation
Dense memory foam mattresses usually perform the absolute best when it comes to isolating motion, so it's no surprise that the Novilla Bliss deadens cross-mattress movement well. There's little to no motion transfer from side to side, and the bed's memory foam on top stops lots of motion right where it starts. Good news for light-sleeping couples on a tight budget.
Edge-to-edge support
The edge support on this bed is average. Given that it's an all-foam bed that doesn't have any special tech along the sides, it doesn't have the sturdiest edges, but there's also no excessive sagging to report either. I think unless edge support is a top concern for you or your partner, you shouldn't have any real issues with this mattress. Otherwise, look into a hybrid mattress with reinforced coils along the side.
Temperature
Though the brand markets this mattress as cooling, the reality is it's a budget bed. Don't expect advanced cooling features for pennies on the dollar. That said, based on our tests, we found it to be in that temperature-neutral sweet spot. Unless you or your partner are especially hot sleepers, I doubt it'll warm up on you that much. If you're looking for a mattress that'll help you sleep cool, you can always check out our best cooling mattress for hot sleepers list.
Durability
This is not going to be the most durable bed out there. Given its simple all-foam design, we believe it's ideal for supporting average- to petite-sized builds. If you're heavier like me, you could get by on it for a while, but it'll likely degrade on you a lot faster than something like a hybrid bed with coils. If you weigh over 300 pounds, I wouldn't recommend this bed to you. In that case, feel free to check out our Best Beds for Heavy People list.
Who is the Novilla Bliss mattress best for?
This bed fits most budgets, but it won't suit everyone's sleep preferences. Here's who we think will benefit most from the Novilla Bliss.
Sleeping position
Since it's around a medium-firm, this bed should mainly work best for primary back and stomach sleepers. If you're a combination sleeper who prefers a firmer sleeping surface, it could also work well for you. But the mattress itself provides more support and rigidity on top instead of pressure relief, which could be a drawback for side sleepers and combination sleepers who are looking for a softer bed.
If you're looking for an ultra-soft mattress, this might not be the best fit. However, Novilla offers other plush options that better suit strict side sleepers. In our opinion as online mattress experts, this one is a bit too firm for that preference.
Body type
As mentioned, the construction of this bed makes it best at supporting smaller- to average-sized people. If you're on the heavier side, you'll likely need a more supportive mattress for long-term durability. While you could get by with this one, investing in a sturdier option is often worth it.
Novilla Bliss mattress pricing
| Size | Measurements (inches) | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Full | 54x75 inches | $320 |
| Queen | 60x80 inches | $360 |
| King | 76x80 inches | $370 |
| Cal King | 72x84 inches | $449 |
The main selling point of this mattress comes down to its downright affordability. While other beds in its class range anywhere between $500 to $1,000, this one is priced far below that mark. Plus, I think it's pretty cool that you only have to spend about ten bucks to upgrade from a queen- to a king-size mattress -- that's a steal in my book.
Trial, shipping and warranty
Novilla backs its beds with a pretty standard policy set. Its beds ship to you completely free, and once in your possession, you have a 100-night trial period to try them at home risk-free. If you happen not to like your Novilla mattress within that timeframe, you can return it for free. On the other hand, if you decide to keep it, you're backed by a 10-year warranty.
How does the Novilla Bliss mattress compare to other mattresses?
Novilla Bliss vs. Zinus Green Tea
These are two of the most budget-friendly memory foam mattresses found online nowadays. Both have a denser style of memory foam feel and are available in different height profiles. The biggest difference between the two comes down to firmness. The Zinus Green Tea mattress is significantly softer than the firmer Novilla Bliss options. Also, the Zinus bed is available in an all-foam or hybrid construction. You can even purchase it with an optional cooling upgrade, but in terms of price, you'll be spending up slightly for all those extra bells and whistles.
Novilla Bliss vs. Nectar Classic
What should you know about these two affordable online memory foam options? Quite a bit. Firstly, the Nectar Classic has a more responsive memory foam feel compared to the dense memory foam nature of the Novilla Bliss. The Nectar Classic is available in two support renditions, whereas the Novilla Bliss has three firmness varieties. But no matter how you cut it, both beds are on the firmer end of the spectrum. When it comes to price, the more affordable option is the Novilla Bliss by far, but the Nectar Classic is probably the better value, considering its quality by comparison.
The final verdict
This is a decent memory foam bed for the price. It's got that prototypical memory foam feel that many sleepers crave, and it's pretty supportive for back and stomach sleeping. On a personal note, however, I'd rather spend up for a nicer mattress. The Novilla Bliss is budget-friendly, but it comes at the cost of quality -- proof that you get what you pay for.
You might like the Novilla Bliss mattress if:
- You want a simple, all-foam mattress
- You want a bed that's around a medium-firm

- You're searching for a super cheap mattress
You might not like the Novilla Bliss mattress if:
- You're looking for a more supportive hybrid mattress
- You prefer the feel of a neutral bed
- You want a softer mattress for side sleeping
- You want a more quality mattress backed by better policies
Novilla Bliss mattress FAQs
How long does it take a Novilla mattress to expand?
Based on our experience with the Bliss, it should look and feel ready to sleep on after giving it a full night to sit out and expand. This is especially the case for all-foam beds that use memory foam on top for comfort. Sometimes, hybrid beds that have coils inflate a bit quicker overnight, but usually, all beds take some time to inflate post-unboxing.
Can you remove and wash the Novilla Bliss mattress cover?
While you can technically remove the bed’s cover, I would strongly suggest spot cleaning it if it happens to get dirty. Usually, soap and water on a rag or sponge does wonders with getting most stains out of mattress covers.
What is the average lifespan of the Novilla Bliss mattress?
Generally speaking, the average lifespan of a bed is between seven to 10 years. Depending on your body type, this bed could last most average to petite-sized people for several years to come. Again, if you’re much heavier, this particular mattress might not last as long over time.
