Score Breakdown
Pros and Cons
When it comes to natural and organic beds in the more luxurious category, there are plenty of options online -- but few compare to those from PlushBeds. The brand handcrafts all its beds in the US using high-quality, natural and organic materials.
The Signature Bliss is one of the most luxurious and eco-friendly beds in the brand's lineup. It's one of those mattresses that looks ultra-premium at first glance -- you can tell it's high-end. That said, there are a few aspects that might not make it the right fit for everyone. In this review, I'll break it all down to help you make a well-informed decision before you buy.

First impressions of the Signature Bliss mattress
This bed was shipped to us for free, but unlike typical bed-in-a-box deliveries, it arrived fully expanded. That meant a mountain of cardboard after unboxing, but the process was still quick and easy. And best of all, the mattress was fully formed right out of the box -- after unboxing so many beds, it's a treat to sleep on one the very first night.
Once unboxed, we got right to testing the mattress. I immediately noticed how responsive it felt -- much more so than your average pillow-top bed. It also surprised us with its firmness; given the plush look of the pillow top, we expected it to be much softer. Overall, the Signature Bliss caught us off guard.
PlushBeds Signature Bliss mattress firmness and feel
What does the Signature Bliss mattress feel like?
The Signature Bliss offers sleepers a responsive pillow-top feel, similar to the Avocado Green mattress with the pillow-top upgrade. Simply put, it feels like a nice and bouncy pillow-top bed. With support coils paired with responsive comfort layers like latex foam, it's easy to see why the bed feels so lively and firm.
Based on our observations, most sleepers should find this type of mattress accommodating, but it might not be right for everyone. Some sleepers prefer the sink-in feel of memory foam, while others lean toward a more neutral foam. That said, the PlushBeds Signature Bliss strikes a balance that should suit most comfort preferences.
How firm is the Signature Bliss mattress?
The Signature Bliss is available in two firmness choices: medium and medium-firm. We opted for the medium-firm rendition of the bed and found it to be noticeably firm, much more so than your average pillow-top mattress. We clocked it between a medium-firm and a proper firm on our scale, making it most suitable for strict back sleepers looking for a super firm bed.
Of course, the medium version of the bed will be much softer than the medium-firm option, making it the more accommodating option for all sleep styles. Still, it's nice to have a couple of firmness levels to choose from to tailor the bed to your specific needs.
For years, we've ranked mattress firmness from a subjective perspective, but we now have a machine called the Mattress Smasher 9000 that objectively tests how soft or firm a mattress is. After pressing into the bed with a precise pressure gauge, it gave the medium-firm version of the Signature Bliss a firmness score of 8.5 out of 10.
PlushBeds Signature Bliss mattress construction
This premium natural and organic pillow-top mattress comes backed by numerous eco-certifications. Made in the USA, it's constructed from the following materials:
- On the bottom is the bed's main support system of individually wrapped coils.
- Next is a certified organic British wool, a hypoallergenic layer that adds some additional comfort and pressure relief to the bed.
- Next is a layer of responsive transition foam above coils made from Dunlop latex -- sourced from renowned rubber tree plantation Arpico.
- Pulling everything together is an organic cotton cover that's also naturally hypoallergenic -- good news for sleepers with chronic allergies.
PlushBeds Signature Bliss mattress performance
Motion isolation
This mattress deadens a decent amount of cross-mattress movement. Since the coils are wrapped and individually siloed, they help the mattress transfer less motion from side to side, but not as much as a dense memory foam option. If motion isolation is a top priority when it comes to your next bed, I'd definitely consider a memory foam mattress instead of something like a latex hybrid mattress.
Edge-to-edge support
This mattress includes support coils that extend to its far edges, giving it a very sturdy perimeter. During our testing we found its edges are strong and don't overly sag under pressure. If you tend to sleep close to the edge of your mattress, this mattress should be able to support you along its outer rims. And it goes without saying -- no one should be falling off anytime soon.
Temperature
Even though PlushBeds advertises the Signature Bliss as having active cooling properties, we didn't notice much, if any, of a cooling effect in the bed. That said, the bed's high-quality design should go a long way toward helping you stay temperature-neutral on it. If you're looking for a mattress to help keep you and your partner sleeping cool, you can always check out our best cooling mattress for hot sleepers list.
Durability
Since this is a premium pillow-top bed, it should prove to be more durable than your standard, all-foam mattress found online. Its steel coils provide lots of support and durability for all body types: small, medium and even larger people. If you're a much heavier person who's upwards of 300 pounds, you may require more of an ultra-durable style of hybrid bed. In that case, feel free to check out our best beds for heavy people list.
Who is the Signature Bliss mattress best for?
The medium-firm model of the PlushBeds Signature will likely appeal to a select group of sleepers out there. Here's who we think will get the most out of this much firmer yet luxurious sleeping surface.
Sleeping position
As for the medium-firm version, since it falls between a medium-firm and firm, it's ideal for providing ample support to strict back or stomach sleepers. Plenty of people prefer a firmer style of bed, and that's exactly what this one delivers. But if you're a side or combination sleeper looking for something plusher, you'll have better luck with a bed closer to a medium or softer feel.
Body type
As mentioned, the construction of this bed makes it well-suited to support all body types, including heavier individuals. If you're average-sized or on the smaller side, you'll still find it supportive -- but you could save quite a bit by opting for an all-foam mattress instead.
PlushBeds Signature Bliss mattress pricing
| Size | Measurements (inches) | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Twin | 38x75 inches | $3,249 |
| Twin XL | 38x80 inches | $3,299 |
| Full | 54x75 inches | $3,399 |
| Queen | 60x80 inches | $3,549 |
| King | 76x80 inches | $3,799 |
| Cal King | 72x84 inches | $3,799 |
One quick look at the retail pricing for this bed tells you that it's expensive. Keep in mind, though, that you get what you pay for with online beds. It's a well-constructed, premium mattress with the papers to prove just how ethically sourced it is. While this pricing may seem egregious at first glance, it's reasonable given the bed's overall quality.
Trial, shipping and warranty
PlushBeds backs its Signature Bliss mattress with some nice policies. Its beds ship to you for free. Once in your possession, you get a 100-night trial period to try your bed risk-free at home. If you happen not to like your PlushBeds mattress within that timeframe, you can return it for free. If you decide to keep it, you're backed by a lifetime warranty.
How does the Signature Bliss mattress compare to other mattresses?
Signature Bliss vs. Botanical Bliss
These are two of the brand's most popular mattresses, and while both come from PlushBeds, they differ in several key ways. For starters, the Signature Bliss is a hybrid mattress that has coils on the bottom for support and a pillow top for comfort. The Botanical Bliss is an all-latex foam mattress, meaning it doesn't incorporate support coils or a pillow top. It's got a flatter sleeping surface and a firm, latex foam feel. Between the two, the Botanical Bliss is also the thinner and more affordable option. With both beds, you've got a variety of firmness options to choose from, too.
Signature Bliss vs. The WinkBed
The WinkBed is similar to the Signature Bliss mattress in that it's a more luxurious pillow-top offering. Both are made in the US, ship for free and backed by nice policies. The WinkBed is available in four different firmnesses, including a Plus version to support much heavier individuals. If your decision between the two comes down to budget, a queen-sized WinkBed mattress is considerably more affordable than the Signature Bliss. However, when it comes to ethically sourced quality, PlushBeds has a slight edge.
The final verdict
Though quite firm, the Signature Bliss is clearly a high-quality pillow-top bed with an organic aesthetic. If you're someone who appreciates eco-conscious design and wants a supportive hybrid mattress with a responsive feel -- and the option to choose your firmness -- this could be your next bed, especially if it's within budget.
You might like the Signature Bliss mattress if:
- You want a supportive hybrid mattress
- You want a bed that's available in two firmness options
- You want bed that's sustainably sourced
- You're willing to spend up for something nice
You might not like the Signature Bliss mattress if:
- You're looking for an all-foam mattress
- You prefer the feel of a dense memory foam mattress
- You want a softer mattress for side sleeping
- You're looking for a more affordable mattress
