Proper hydration requires persistence. Tracking your levels can help encourage you to drink more water, but it's not easy. A new toilet sensor, unveiled at CES 2026, aims to do the heavy lifting of hydration tracking for you.

We saw it on the show floor and spoke with founder Miray Tayfun about the first-of-its-kind wellness accessory. For obvious hygiene reasons, looking at and touching the device was as much testing as we were able to do.

How does the Vivoo Smart Toilet work?

Although it's called the Vivoo Smart Toilet, it's not a full toilet. Instead, it's a strap-on sensor that attaches to the base of a smart toilet station, and an app that alerts you when it's time to drink more water. The device slings over the inside of your toilet. Anytime you go, it evaluates the urine and provides insights into your hydration levels within minutes. Tayfun tells me it works with any style of toilet.

In addition to monitoring your current hydration status, the algorithm tracks patterns over time and provides guidance on maintaining consistently high hydration levels.

How much does the Vivoo Smart Toilet cost?

Currently, as part of an early discount offer, the Vivoo Smart Toilet costs $99, then an additional $3 per month after the first three months. Later, the price will increase to $129, along with a monthly fee of $6.
