After months of discounts on its equipment, Starlink has seemingly landed on a new price for its Standard Kit. You'll now pay $349 for the satellite dish -- up from $299 last week, but down from $599 as recently as three months ago.
But you could end up paying $100 more than that price at checkout, depending where you live. At some addresses, Starlink is tacking on a $100 "congestion charge" when you activate a new plan.
Starlink had previously offered a $100 discount in areas where it has "abundant network availability," but it quietly discounted that offer on Oct. 14. States eligible for that credit previously included Arizona, California, New York and Pennsylvania.

The pricing changes come at a busy time for the satellite company. In July, Starlink debuted its Starlink Mini satellite dish, which is about the size of a laptop and has a router built in for an on-the-go connection. At the beginning of August, it also rolled out a discounted family plan for $100 to US customers.
