SwitchBot's wallet tracker card is a good solution for a old problem.
If you're like me, you're finding it easier than ever to lose track of your wallet. With contactless payments and a handy card clip, I'm pulling out my wallet only for special occasions. Many times, it stays in a bag or pack -- or sometimes I will (unwisely) leave it behind in the car. All that means I'm not always sure where my wallet is. That's why SwitchBot's answer fits so well.
Sure, lots of trackers can help pinpoint your wallet or billfold, but few are designed to fit in them, especially if you prefer a slimmer, more comfortable wallet. SwitchBot's solution was designing a tracker that looks more like a fancy credit card than anything else and fits in your wallet like one too. On the back is a pairing button and a QR code people can scan to let you know if they find your wallet left behind.
Breezy setup
Another part I like about the SwitchBot card is how simple the setup is, especially if you're an Apple user. Open the Apple Find My app and choose to add a device, then give the card's button a long press to connect. Choose a name and you're finished: You can find your wallet's location at any time, make it chime if it's nearby and get notifications if you accidentally leave it somewhere.
The wallet finder setup takes about a minute and works instantly.
Find My also allows for a few other tricks, like sharing your wallet's location with a friend in contacts who may be better positioned to swoop in and save your wallet. And, of course, this works with anything that has a card slot, including plenty of purses, fanny packs and phone covers.
The card is dustproof and waterproof with an IP67 rating, and SwitchBot reports that its battery can last for up to three years before needing to be replaced. You can get low battery warnings so you know when the time has come.
A small limitation: Less Android compatibility
If you use Android, you won't have the Find My compatibility, but you can still download and use the SwitchBot app, which performs most of the same tasks.
But the SwitchBot app comes with advantages too: It lets you connect compatible devices, enable NFC connections and even set up routines if you have Switchbot locks or other SwitchBot tech in your home.
Finally, if you're thinking about getting the card or giving it as a gift or stocking stuffer, keep in mind it's pretty cheap too: The wallet finder retails at $25 and is currently available for $20, not bad for a tracker that takes a minute to set up and lasts for three years without worrying about any maintenance. In fact, it's an ideal "person who has everything" last-minute gift.
I also liked SwitchBot's air quality tracker, which has similar ease-of-use and instant setup, although you'll have to pay for more that particular portable gadget.
