Xbox Games Showcase 2025: News, Trailers and Everything Announced
Microsoft's trailer showcase revealed upcoming games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 along with the unveiling of the Xbox Ally handheld.

As Summer Game Fest continues through the weekend, Microsoft had its own game trailer showcase to reveal all the games coming to Xbox and its Game Pass subscription service. After the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 was an Outer Worlds 2 Direct that followed immediately after.
Xbox had a pretty good lineup of interesting games, but only one show-stopper from its biggest franchises: the unveiling of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (no release date, though). But with Grounded 2 coming in July, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle DLC arriving in September Ninja Gaiden 4's release date announced for October and new games like Super Meat Boy 3D, there was a lot more to see.Â
And, of course, the full reveal of the Xbox Ally, the rumored handheld that looks to be a version of the Asus ROG Ally handheld customized for Xbox.
How to watch Xbox Games Showcase 2025
Unlike last year, Xbox's trailer showcase wasn't shown in front of a theater full of fans -- it was all digital. The Xbox Games Showcase 2025 was livestreamed on Xbox's YouTube and Twitch channels.Â
And that's all for Xbox Games Showcase 2025, folks
Xbox Games Showcase 2025 has finished, and if you're still watching (like us), you're halfway through the Outer Worlds 2 Direct. But for now, that's all the trailers Xbox has -- keep reading below for all the games shown off Sunday.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is coming
Milo Ventimiglia (or his legally concerning lookalike) stars as the main character in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which you could only tell by the title at the end. Worlds spinning upside down? Cities drifting upside down? Houses opening into subspace? Sounds like a Call of Duty game to me, I guess. Xbox didn't give Black Ops 7 a release date just yet.
Final Fantasy VII: Remake Intergrade and FF16 arrive on Xbox
As promised, the era of Xbox and PlayStation isolation is thawing. Final Fantasy Remake Intergrade, containing the FFVII Remake and intermission content Intergrade is coming to Xbox this winter. But until then, Final Fantasy fans can play the latest game in the main franchise, Final Fantasy XVI.
Keeper is Double Fine's next platformer
The Psychonauts studio's next game is another funky-looking 3D platformer where you'll pilot a lighthouse across alien landscapes. Keeper will be released on Oct. 17.
Invincible is starring in his own fighting game
Mark Grayson is going to get his butt kicked in Invincible VS, a new fighting game featuring some of the strongest characters from the Invincible comics and television show. Gamers will get a chance to put the beatdown on Atom Eve, Omni-Man and other fan-favorite characters as they string together combos on their opponent. Invincible VS will be released in 2026.
Sea of Thieves season 17: smugglers ahoy
Xbox studio Rare's lovely co-op pirate adventure Sea of Thieves is gearing up for season 17, which will be focused on smuggling, more loot and blowing stuff up -- y'know, pirate things. It launches in August and is free for all Sea of Thieves players.
Gears of War: Reloaded is a gorgeous return to the series' roots
The Gears of War remake is looking great (and the Locust forces are looking absolutely disgusting). The new iteration of the original Gears will run in 4K resolution at up to 120 frames per second. Most importantly, it's also coming to PlayStation 5 and PC, and the game will have cross-play and cross-progression at launch. Gears of War: Reloaded will be released on Aug. 26.
At Fate's End, a lovingly 2D animated side-scrolling adventure
Years ago, the Banner Saga debuted a gorgeous 2D animated style that's been criminally unused since. At Fate's End is a side-scrolling adventure story about a broken family of sword-wielding knights -- drama, Tarot and way more story than what we've seen await when the game comes out in 2026.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 will add some new fresh faces to the roster
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is returning for all of the oldheads who want to cut it up just like they used to. This time around, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are joining the roster -- a perfect fit. You can also play as Doomguy, which is just absurd. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 will be released on July 11.
Aniimo dares to ask: What if Pokemon games didn't look like hot garbage?
Yes, we have another Pokemon-like game coming, but it looks pretty gorgeous -- imagine the polar opposite of Pokemon Violet's atrociously awful graphics and framerate and you have Aniimo, a free-to-play open-world game coming to Xbox and PC in 2026.Â
Fallout 76's next big update? Fishing simulation.
The next big Fallout 76 update lets you take to the waterways and fish up some irradiated eats. You'll also no doubt have to contend with some nasty new aquatic threats. If fishing isn't quite your idea of a good time, you'll also be able to exercise your green thumb with new gardening features and barbecue cookouts. Fallout 76: Gone Fission is available to download now.
Solo Levling Arise: Overdrive coming in fall.
Guns, swords, anime visuals and ultimate abilities transforming you into armor-clad demons -- what's not to love? More content for Netmarble's Solo Leveling: Arise game, Solo Leveling Arise: Overdrive, is coming this fall.
Planet of Lana II continues the side-scrolling adventure
A follow-up to 2023's Planet of Lana is coming in late 2026. The stylish side-scrolling adventure Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf continues teenage girl Lana and her cat Mui as they evade spaceborne invaders coming to their peaceful planet -- though a tease at the end of the trailer shows that things may not end up well in the future.
Mudang Two Hearts is a new stealthy third-person shooter
Mudang Two Hearts presents a fictional future where South Korea and North Korea are set to reunify -- but a mysterious terrorist group threatens the peace. This new game looks like it crosses Splinter Cell gadgets (and Sam Fisher's acrobatics) with Metal Gear Solid's penchant for crazy new ideas, including mutated soldiers and superhuman powers. Mudang Two Hearts will be released in 2026.
Age of Mythology: Retold DLC adds Japanese pantheon
The remastered Age of Mythology: Retold has a new expansion, Heavenly Spear, that adds a Japanese pantheon to the game when it comes this fall.
No Ghosts at the Grand is a bizarre take on the cleaning sim
What do you do when you inherit a crumbling hotel? Clean it up and explore its surreal, bigger-on-the-inside innards. Just beware of its secrets. No Ghosts at the Grand looks delightfully bizarre, and it's coming in 2026.
The new Elder Scrolls Online expansion promises to introduce the game's first 'world-changing event'
The Elder Scrolls Online: Seasons of the Worm Cult update will be released on June 18, with a renewed emphasis on pets -- and we spied an Oblivion gate in the trailer. After the expansion, players will need to gear up for the first server-wide event, a large-scale fight that has the potential to alter Tamriel. The Writhing Wall will attack the game in October, so it's best to login and begin preparations now.
Life Is Strange creator's next game, Aphelion, is a sci-fi adventure
Life Is Strange creator Don't Nod is breaking its streak of teenage angst simulators with Aphelion, a science fiction adventure starring an astronaut crashing on a distant planet to find someone -- and from the end of the trailer, that someone might have found more than they bargained for (a growling alien threat that sounds like a Xenomorph?). Aphelion comes out in 2026.
Cronos: A New Dawn gets gameplay and release window this fall
Cronos: A New Dawn sure looked like an odd duck with body horror and chess (?) when it debuted at last fall's Xbox games showcase, but now we finally see gameplay of the mysterious upcoming title -- and it's very much a Dead Space astro-zombie killer. Doubtless there's more about the game to discover. Cronos: A New Dawn is coming in fall 2025.
Grounded 2 is shrinking the same kids again
The same set of teens is going to have to contend with human-sized bugs again four years after the events of the first Grounded game, which sucks for them but is great for survival gamers. In this sequel, players will get to tame ants, weaponize ice cream and face off against more dangerous spiders than ever before. Grounded 2 will be released on July 29.
Outer Worlds 2 and all other first-party games are Play Anywhere
Head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty jumped on between the trailers to remind viewers that all games made by Xbox and its myriad studios -- like Outer Worlds 2 -- are Play Anywhere, meaning you only have to buy them once ot play them on PC or Xbox, no need to pay twice.
Steampunk Victorian
While Dishonored had a grim take on whalepunk society, Clockwork Revolution is a new game that looks to mix Steampunk Victorian aesthetics with a more nuanced societal critique. And hey, why not throw in some time travel powers and story themes while we're at it? This first-person shooter looks fun and innovative if it can pull off its promising premise -- though there's no release date, just that it's coming "in due time."
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is getting story DLC
Set after the events of the main game, Troy Baker's Indy will tackle a new mystery surrounding the Vatican -- and the order of the giants he ran into on his latest adventure. Indiana Jones will have to crack the whip (and some jokes) on the streets of Antioch as he discovers a cult of giant worship. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants will be released on Sept. 4.
The Pokemon company is making a robo-Ghibli Souls game?
Game Freak has a new game out...for Xbox. Beast of Reincarnation is a game layered with corrupted beasts in a pastoral Japanese landscape, which feels like a riff on Princess Mononoke with katana-swinging action...until the robots come in. Yeah. Whatever Beast of Reincarnation is, it's coming in 2026.
Super Meat Boy is going 3D
The original Super Meat Boy made its debut on the Xbox Live Arcade, so it's fitting that the rage-inducing indie platformer is making its comeback in the Xbox showcase. The little red blob is returning in 3D -- and the challenges you'll face will still inevitably cut him down many times over. Super Meat Boy 3D will be released in early 2026 for Xbox Series X/S, PC and PlayStation 5.
Ninja Gaiden 4 is coming October 21, 2025
Ninja Gaiden 4 got a new trailer with even more bloody action -- and we'll all be able to play it soon enough when the game launches on Oct. 21.
Blood of the Dawnwalker -- a vampire dark RPG
A moody dark fantasy game about a world overrun by vampires -- and playing a hero turned into a Dawnwalker, forced to belong to both humans and bloodsuckers. Blood of the Dawnwalker, as the game is called, is coming in 2026.
The Xbox Handheld is real -- and it's a ROG Ally
The Xbox handheld has been revealed, and as some rumors claimed, it's a reskinned ROG Ally with Pro grips that's been customized with an Xbox button. It packs a Ryzen Z2 Extreme, 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, the ROG Xbox Ally can play every game revealed at Xbox Games Showcase today, Xbox President Sarah Bond said.Â
Hollow Knight: Silksong is still coming in 2025
We might not have an exact release date for Team Cherry's Hollow Knight: Silksong, but we did get a redoubled commitment that it will release this year. The next bug-based Metroidvania will be available to play on the Xbox Ally handheld consoles at launch.
Another Plague Tale game, Resonance, is coming next year
A realistic fantasy adventure with serious Greek mythology vibes in its debut trailer, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is coming in 2026. It takes place 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem, according to its YouTube video description.Â
High on Life 2 will be another weird and wild sci-fi shooter
Squanch Games' High on Life 2 is bringing even more talking guns to the table -- this time around, there's a talking long rifle, dual pistols and even an alien bow and arrow. The game will be released sometime this winter for Xbox Series X/S, PC and PlayStation 5, though we didn't get an official release date.
Outer Worlds 2 is coming October 29
We knew Outer Worlds 2 was getting a direct right after this show, but not a release date -- Obsidian's next space adventure is coming Oct. 29, and this trailer gives us a sneak peek at what's coming in the game. Hint: It's more cheery corporate space dystopia with Obsidian's signature first-person flair.
And we're live!
Here we go -- the two-hour show starts now, though how much of that are game trailers and how much is the Outer Worlds 2 direct is unclear. Guess we'll see!
Stick around for an in-depth showcase for The Outer Worlds 2
Xbox's 2025 showcase will have somewhere in the ballpark of an hour of cool new trailers and announcements to sink our teeth into -- but we're also getting an in-depth look at Obsidian Entertainment's new first-person shooter ARPG afterward. The Outer Worlds 2 will get a dedicated hour of stream time all on its own after the initial slew of announcements, so go to the bathroom now if you're planning on watching the entire showcase.
20 minutes until the show!
Xbox's trailer showcase is starting in 20 minutes, and we're gearing up to cover it remotely because this year's show is all digital. Last year, Xbox rented out the Academy Museum in Los Angeles to show these trailers off in front of a theater full of screaming fans, but we'll have to settle for online cheers this time.
