A close look at Shazam for Android (pictures)

Recently redesigned, the new Shazam has a much cleaner interface that starts with the Shazam Tag button, front and center.

Once a song is identified, or "tagged" as Shazam calls it, you can listen to it on Rdio (if installed), see a discography of the artist, find ringtones on a third-party site, or watch YouTube videos of the song. There's even an option to jump over to Amazon and purchase the song.

If you want to notify your friends of what you're listening to, you can log in to your Facebook or Google+ accounts through the Shazam app.

The LyricPlay feature uses the full screen to display lyrics. It even keeps time with the music, so you can sing along.

Shazam keeps a running tab of songs that you've tagged, so you can go back and revisit them.

The free version of Shazam displays small ads on most screens and large ads like this one on the tagging screen.
