Canon's latest trio of consumer compacts (pictures)

This entry-level-ish compact is Canon's first retro-looking camera. It pretty much slips into the spot occupied by the 2-year-old S120.

No scary dials here; the camera uses almost complete touchscreen operation.

It's the G7 X on the inside but completely different on the outside.

Much-appreciated design features include a built-in electronic viewfinder, articulated display, a real grip and a front dial.

The M10 is a slimmed-down and simplified interchangeable-lens model.

The controls are very simplified -- almost everything operates via the touchscreen.

The M10 ships with a new collapsible 14-45mm lens.

Instead of  the tilting screen on the M3, the M10's just flips up for selfies and groupies. The camera will come in white, too.
