Check out the selfie-loving Huawei Ascend G6 (photos)

BARCELONA, Spain -- Huawei's new Ascend G6 is a 4.5-inch Android phone with a quad-core processor and an impressive 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Love taking selfies? This could be the phone for you. It goes on sale in the UK in April, but Huawei hasn't said whether it will see a US launch or how much it will cost. We're expecting it to be affordable, however.

The phone has a simple design.

The bottom is rounded, much like that of its predecessor, the Ascend P6.

That front-facing camera shoots 5-megapixel images -- that's a lot more megapixels than most smart phones can claim.

There's software on board, too, that apparently makes you more "beautiful" by digitally smoothing your skin.

You can use it to take pictures of flowers if you really want to.

There's an LED flash, should you find yourself shooting snaps in a dark bar.

It's slender, but nowhere near as skinny as the 6.18mm-thick Ascend P6.

A Micro-USB port sits on the edge for charging and data transfer.

A power button and volume rocker are set into the metal surround.

The headphone jack is placed rather awkwardly on the bottom-right edge of the phone.

You'll find the speaker on the back.

It's running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Huawei has slapped its Emotion UI over the top of Android.

The Emotion UI doesn't have a dedicated app menu. Instead, it scatters all apps across numerous home screens.

You can select what widgets will pop down as well as change the transition effect as you swipe between home screens.

There are a number of themes you can apply to the phone, too.

Various aspects of the phone can be customised, including the lock screen.
