Huawei's speedy Ascend D Quad phone debuts (photos)

Huawei's new Ascend D Quad, unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, today, boasts a big 4.5-inch 720p HD display, and the company's K3V2 quad-core CPU. Oh, and it's the world's fastest smartphone, Huawei says.

Judging from this shot Huawei provided of the Ascend D Quad's big 4.5-inch screen, the device should do justice to media like movies, games, and Web sites.

At 0.35 inch, the Ascend D Quad looks pretty trim despite its advanced hardware.

On back of the Ascend D Quad is an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash.

Huawei also plans to sell a frosty white version of the Ascend D Quad.
