HD all the way

Verizon has the right idea letting the LG Spectrum join its lineup. The successor ousts the Revolution for plenty of good reasons, including HD and LTE.

Design

Let's start with design. Accents like this silver touch-sensitive navigation button feel fresh and clean.

Hatchback

While it's hard to see the black-and-gray checkered back cover, it adds some nice prep-school style, along with those simple, approachable lines.

Virtual keyboard

The 4.5-inch HD display creates a roomy canvas for a virtual keyboard. Swype is an option, but it isn't preinstalled by default. Unfortunately, the Android keyboard isn't onboard.

Slim Jim

The Spectrum is pretty lean, but rounded edges help make it comfortable to grip.

Camera

The 8-megapixel rear-facing shooter did great outdoors, but faltered once inside. Check out this gallery to get a sense of the Spectrum's photo capabilities.
