The Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition shares many of the same features as the XpressMusic version of the 5800, but as its name suggests, the focus of the phone is on navigation. It ships with Ovi Maps with free voice-guided directions and other premium content as well as accessories for the car, including a cradle and mount and car charger. The phone costs $299, which isn't bad considering you get all those navigation features and it's unlocked.

Design
Physically, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and Navigation Editions are the same, except for some slight variation in the bezel color.

Size
The Nokia 5800 measures 4.37 inches tall by 2.03 inches wide by 0.61 inch thick and weighs 3.84 ounces. It's slightly on the thicker side, but it's still light, so it won't weigh you down in your travels.

On the right side, you'll find a volume rocker, a lock switch, and a camera activation/capture button.

On top of the device, there is a power button, a power connector, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Micro-USB port.

Display
The 5800 features a 3.2-inch resistive touch screen with a 640x360-pixel resolution and support for 16 million colors. The display is clear and bright, but it washes out slightly in bright sunlight and the smaller screen size can sometimes make it hard to read maps in the car.

User interface
The touch screen is responsive, but the user interface can be a little confusing at first. For example, some menu items require one tap while others need two.

Though you'll use the touch screen for most things, there are several physical controls beneath the display, including Talk and End keys and a main menu button.

Ovi Maps
The Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition ships with Ovi Maps, which provides voice-guided directions with text-to-speech functionality, 3D landmarks, satellite maps, weather information, and much more.
