The P80's noise profile is a bit disappointing. Detail loss begins at ISO 200, and there's a distinct worsening between ISO 200 and ISO 400. (Nikon aggressively blurs the blue and red channels beginning at ISO 400.) By ISO 800, the photos are relatively unusable.
On the whole, the P80 doesn't display much fringing. It occasionally appears on severely blown-out, high-contrast edges, like this one, but most cameras will exhibit the same problem. (Shot at the maximum 486mm-equivalent focal length, 1/500, f4.5)
Although the P80 renders accurate greens and blues, reds tend to shift to magenta and oranges desaturate. (The arrows indicate correct colors; the bottom inset is from another camera.)
