Puma Phone (photos)

Manufactured by Sagem, the Puma Phone features a 2.8-inch, 240x320 capacitive touch screen and measures 4 inches tall by 2.2 inches wide by 0.5 inch thick and weighs 4 ounces.

The UI features a red background and bold icons. You can customize the home screen with several shortcuts. To do so from the main menu (shown above), simply do a long press on one of the icons, and it will automatically show up on your home screen.

On back of the phone, you'll find the integrated solar-cell charger. Above that you can see the phone's 3.2-megapixel camera and flash.

A cool feature is that you can see how many text messages you have sent using solar power.

The green tracker also keeps tabs on other aspects of the phone affected by the solar charger, including the music player.

Given that Puma is a manufacturer of sporting goods, it's not a huge surprise to see that it worked that element into the phone. The Puma Phone has a GPS run and bike tracker, a pedometer, and a yacht compass.

After you've come back from your run, you can use the tracker app to see how far you've run and at what pace. The phone can also overlay your running route on a map.

In addition to a built-in radio, the Puma Phone's music player features a scratching turntable.

Here is the settings menu that stays hidden neatly behind the main screen. To call it up, simply swipe your finger upward from the bottom right-hand corner.

By double-pressing the menu button, you can call up Dylan, your friendly on-demand virtual puma. He'll run across your screen or kill you with cuteness.
