Sony Ericsson showed a gallery of recent cell phones at CES. CNET browses the company's booth on the show floor to bring you the highlights.
Kent German
Kent was a senior managing editor at CNET News. A veteran of CNET since 2003, he reviewed the first iPhone and worked in both the London and San Francisco offices. When not working, he's planning his next vacation, walking his dog or watching planes land at the airport (yes, really).
The Xperia Pureness is like few other phones we've seen before. Above its standard flush keypad, the candy bar handset has a transparent display. Here you can see the classic Sony Ericsson menu interface with white text and icons. It's certainly eye-catching, though we wonder how the display would function in bright sunlight.

Text appears backwards when you view the Pureness's clear display from behind. Features includes a Web browser (that should be interesting), Bluetooth, messaging and e-mail, USB mass storage, a personal organizer, and a speakerphone.

Sony Ericsson Jalou
The Jalou by Dolce & Gabana has an eye-catching flip-phone design in sparkling rose. The glossy skin features 24-carat gold plating and is cut to resemble facets on a jewel. The reflective exterior can double as a mirror and the handset comes with a branded Dolce & Gabana headset and satin carrying bag.

Sony Ericsson Elm
Also a GreenHeart handset, the Elm is made from recycled plastics; it's free of hazardous materials; its box has minimal packaging; and it includes eco-friendly apps, like a pedometer. Other features include a 5-megapixel camera, an FM radio, a personal organizer, messaging and e-mail, a music player, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a speakerphone. It comes in two colors: metal black and pearly rose.

Sony Ericsson Elm
The rear side of the Elm is curved. Sony Ericsson said it designed the handset that way for a more comfortable and ergonomic fit in your hand. We didn't notice much of a difference, but we were pleased to see that the Elm doesn't wobble excessively when you rest it on a surface.

Sony Ericsson Hazel
The Hazel has a slider design, in passionate red. The display supports 16.7 million colors and the feature set is similar to the Elm's.
