Streamlined chat with Facebook Messenger for Android (pictures)

Facebook Messenger for Android integrates SMS with Facebook chat. Also, the updated app gives you the much talked about Chat Heads feature.

Brand-new design

Get chatty

The theme continues in the conversation view, which now has a flat design and bright blue accents. Here is where you can send and receive messages and attach other media.

Multimedia chat

Reply in conversation with text, photos, voice, stickers, or emoji. Unfortunately, though, there's no video calling.

Image search

The integrated image search lets you scour the Web for an image to use in your conversation.

Stickers

Stickers are free animated and still pictures of cats, smiley faces, and even characters from current animated movies. You can download as many free sticker packs as you want from the store in the app.

They're everywhere

No matter what you're doing on your device, Chat Heads will pop up (if enabled) as soon as you receive an incoming message. This makes it easy to quickly reply and get back to what you were doing previously.

Tap on a Chat Head to bring up a minimal window for your conversation, where you can send your reply.
