The glossy, tech-infused Ford Focus 2015 (photos)

Ford has used Mobile World congress here in Barcelona to give the 2015 Ford Focus its first outing. Aside from being seriously shiny, this car is packing some pretty nifty tech inside.

It has a 1.0 litre Eco-Boost engine, but there may be a 2.0 litre version too.

"Grrrrr" says the angry-looking grille.

Ford says the new Focus has improved suspension stability. They weren't keen on me taking it out on a track to find out today though.

It's not the prettiest thing to be stuck behind in a traffic jam.

But from an angle it looks a whole load better.

It'll never look this shiny again.

Ford is yet to say how much it'll be charging for the new Focus.

It wouldn't be a technology show if there wasn't some kit on the inside to peer at too.

You'll notice that the dashboard has surprisingly few buttons for a modern car.

That's because the main one you'll need is the voice activation button sitting in the middle here.

Hit the button and you'll be able to bark all kinds of commands at the large LCD display.

You can input a destination for the built in GPS satellite navigation system to take you to, without having to poke around on a tiny screen while driving.

You can of course hook your phone up over Bluetooth or via USB -- which will also charge your phone.

It'll sync your music and let you use voice control to choose the artists or songs you want.

Notice all the fingerprints on the screen...

...that's because it's a touchscreen. If voice calling fails -- possibly because your kids are screaming too loud for it to hear you -- you can tap in the number manually.

I have no idea what most of these buttons do, except the one on the bottom right -- that's clearly a stabilisation setting for balancing cars and planks of wood on top of your own car. Odd feature, that.

Sony makes the speakers inside the car.

My experience of car interior comfort is restricted to my mum's ancient Renault that I learned to drive in, but I'm still happy to report that the new Focus is more comfortable than that.

You can control your media and take calls with these steering wheel-mounted buttons.

There aren't loads of buttons and gadgets dotted around, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get to grips with.
