A growing WeMo family
Belkin's WeMo family of sensors and switches are a popular smart-home entry point, and this year at CES 2015, the family is getting bigger, with four brand-new sensors. There's also a host of new smart lights you'll be able to incorporate into the system thanks to two new partnerships. Click through to see your new options.
First off, the WeMo LED
To start with, there's the WeMo LED, announced at last year's CES and available now.
Needs the WeMo Link
The WeMo LEDs rely on the WeMo Link plug-in hub to translate their Zigbee signal into Wi-Fi for your home router. The new partner bulbs all use Zigbee, too, and will also require the WeMo Link.
Osram Sylvania Lightify LEDs
The first partner is Osram Sylvania, with a new line of "Lightify" smart LEDs that'll work with WeMo. This version is "color tunable," meaning you can dial the color temperature up and down.
BR30 size
There's also a BR30 floodlight version you can use.
GardenSpot outdoor LEDs
Osram's "GardenSpot" outdoor lights will work with WeMo, too.
Osram Lightify Flex LEDs
These color-changing "Flex" lightstrips will work, too.
TCP can lighting
The other partner is TCP, which already produces a line of smart LEDs. Those won't work with WeMo, but a new line of TCP Zigbee LEDs, like this retrofit can lighting setup, will.
Daylight LED
There are also standard-size TCP LEDs that'll work with WeMo.
TCP BR30 LED
For flood lighting, you can go with a TCP BR30 LED...
TCP PAR38 LED
...or this PAR38-shaped model.
Family portait
Here they are all together. The variety of shapes and designs is intended to cover whatever lighting need you can think of, which seems like a bright move for Belkin.
