Each physical port on the tablet includes an attached flap that keeps it sealed up tight when closed. Necessary to achieve full waterproofing.

NFC
NFC allows you send info to other devices with a quick bump. At least on paper. In reality, the Z's NFC has a weak signal and slow performance.

The back camera features Sony's Exmor R tech, which should allow you to take high-quality low-light pics. Low-light it does. High-quality? Not so much.
