Vertu Constellation: A $6,000 phone for the filthy rich (pictures)

The Vertu Constellation is an Android phone made from leather and titanium, and comes with a ridiculous $5,950 price tag.

That leather is hand-selected from one of Europe's oldest tanneries.

That's a 13-megapixel camera on the back.

The 3.5mm headphone jack and Micro-USB port are pretty standard.

The leather feels great and is held in place by small screws. I think it looks brilliant.

The buttons are small but easy to press in an emergency.

It's not the skinniest phone around by any means, but it'll sit comfortably in the pocket of your hand-cut suit jacket.

The leather wraps around the bottom of the phone, too.

It's available in red, light brown, dark brown, orange, and black. Try and get one to match the interior of your car.

Time will tell how well that leather stands up to knocks and scuffs.

There are speakers tucked into this metal plate.

That little red button gives quick access to Vertu's included security services.

The Constellation only uses a dual-core processor and the screen is 720p -- hardly top-end specs to match the price.

It's running on Android 4.2.2, which isn't bang up-to-date, either.

Vertu has given Android a few tweaks to try and help justify that price tag.

Operation is the same as it is on any Android phone, though.

There are some Vertu apps onboard, including a curated guide to luxury nearby locations.

One of the security features is the ability to send out a silent alarm.

It also has various data encryption services to keep all those corporate secrets safe.
