CNET Reveals 2024 Editors' Choice Picks for Giftable Tech

CNET editors spent all year testing phones, headphones, TVs, laptops and more and have shared their favorites in time for the holidays.

SAN FRANCISCO (Oct. 31, 2024) — CNET, the trusted digital media publication that provides expert information, hands-on product testing, product reviews and industry analysis to help consumers make informed decisions, announced today the Editors' Choice 2024 Picks for giftable technology for the holiday season.

2024 CNET Editors' Choice badge

Throughout the year, the CNET editorial team tested phones, headphones, TVs, laptops and many other products and has curated a selection of their preferred gifts that blend innovation with quality—a crucial aspect that consumers are prioritizing this season. According to a recent CNET holiday shopping survey, one out of every five shoppers is placing greater emphasis on high-quality products for their holiday shopping endeavors.

"In 2024 we're seeing trends like phones and laptops with AI features, open-design earbuds with noise cancellation and TVs designed for a better picture in bright rooms," says David Katzmaier, senior director of content at CNET. "Our focus as reviewers, however, is to look past the headline feature and evaluate whether the product as a whole stands out against the competition. Only the best devices we test are worthy of an Editors' Choice award."

Methodology: The CNET Editors' Choice badge represents the strongest recommendation of a product or service evaluated by CNET experts. The award distinguishes the products and services that have made a lasting impression on CNET's editorial team.

To earn an Editors' Choice distinction, a product or service must be a top pick in its category, score a minimum benchmark when rated or be selected by a CNET expert based on hands-on testing of the product and its competition. Awarded by our experienced editors, backed by lab testing in dedicated facilities and more selective than a Best List inclusion or a positive review, Editors' Choice Awards tell readers which products and services are the best of the best.
