Assassin's Creed Shadows is the latest entry in Ubisoft's long-running franchise. It's also one of the biggest and best-looking games in the series. With a game that looks as good as Assassin's Creed Shadows, there's a question of whether the Steam Deck can run the game. The Steam Deck is now three years old, and its hardware was running many of the newest games in 2022 at their highest graphics settings. Read on to find out whether the Steam Deck can run Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Is Assassin's Creed Shadows Steam Deck verified?
Yes. When a game receives a "verified" designation, it doesn't mean the game will play perfectly on a console. But it does mean the game has controller support, supports the default resolution of the Steam Deck, has no compatibility issues, and supports the Steam Deck Proton system.

Can the Steam Deck Run Assassin's Creed Shadows?
Yes, and it runs the game pretty well if you keep all the graphics settings at the lowest option. The YouTube channel Deck Wizard shows Assassin's Creed Shadows running on a Steam Deck, and at its lowest settings, the game runs a solid 30fps. There are some slowdowns here and there when the action gets frantic, but that's not a bad tradeoff for a new AAA game.
Assassin's Creed Shadows launches on March 20 for Mac, PC, PS5 and Xbox Series consoles for $70.
