GameCube Games Are Coming to Switch Online: Here's the List

Owners of the Nintendo Switch 2 can play three games at launch, with more GameCube titles to come.

Wednesday's Nintendo Direct event revealed more details about the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 gaming console. One is that people with the Switch successor and the Nintendo Switch Online Plus Expansion Pack will exclusively get access to a library of GameCube games.

Here's a list of games available at launch:

  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
  • Soulcalibur 2
  • F-Zero GX

Nintendo said it'll add more titles in the future. The company displayed seven games on-screen during the presentation: Super Mario Sunshine; Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance; Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness; Super Mario Strikers; Chibi-Robo! Plug Into Adventure!; Luigi's Mansion; and Pokemon Colosseum. A Nintendo Switch Online Plus Expansion Pack subscription costs $50 per year.

Nintendo Game Cube: Nintendo Classics is scheduled to launch on June 5, the same day as the Switch 2. According to Nintendo, players can enjoy games with clearer image quality and higher resolution, customize controls to their liking and play with up to four people locally or online in games that support multiplayer. 

Nintendo also revealed it'll release "a dedicated controller designed after the original GameCube controller" on June 5. The controller has a C button to swiftly access game chat, and it connects wirelessly. It'll be exclusively for Nintendo Switch online members.
