Microsoft announced on Wednesday that it plans on bringing all its Xbox Game Pass mobile app features into the standalone Xbox app in the near future. Beta testers can try the updated Xbox app this week.

That means that Game Pass subscribers will be able to manage their memberships and browse the Game Pass library in the Xbox app. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will also be able to claim perks within the updated app. However, Ultimate subscribers will still have to use a mobile browser to play select games through Xbox Cloud Gaming.

You'll still be able to use all the Xbox app features, like chatting with friends and remotely installing games to your device.

While there's no definite date for when the Xbox app will gain the Game Pass app's features and form up like Voltron, Microsoft said online that the Game Pass app won't be available for new downloads starting in November.

Microsoft did not immediately respond to a request for further comment.

This marks yet another shift for Xbox this year. Microsoft rolled out its Game Pass Standard plan a few weeks ago after announcing it would discontinue the Game Pass Console plan in July. Microsoft also announced in July that it was raising the price of Game Pass Ultimate from $17 to $20 a month.

Microsoft also announced a slew of new games coming to Game Pass soon as Day 1 releases, meaning you can play for free the day it goes on sale, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Gears of War: E-Day.
