Ouya became an overnight success on Kickstarter, and has raised over US$6.2 million in funding.

When the Android-based console is released in March 2013, it will count Vevo as one of its launch partners.

Vevo is a music video-streaming service run by Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Abu Dhabi Media. Many users will be familiar with Vevo, thanks to its syndication deal with YouTube. It has a catalogue of over 50,000 videos and 11,000 artists.

The partnership is part of Vevo's broader plan to integrate itself into living rooms around the world. Michael Cerda, senior vice president of product and technology at Vevo, said, "we will continue to deliver our premium music video programming to the rest of our platform consisting of Vevo.com; mobile and tablet apps (including Android, iOS, Windows Phone); connected TVs, like Xbox; and partner sites, such as Facebook and YouTube".
