At Apple's "Glowtime" event on Monday, the company unveiled its new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. Along with a redesigned camera and a dedicated camera-control button, the iPhone 16 will have another new feature: Visual intelligence.

Visual intelligence -- which is powered by Apple Silicon -- will use AI to help identify the things around you. For example, if you see a dog, you can take a photo of it and your iPhone 16 will identify the breed. Or if you see a poster promoting an event, you can take a photo of it and the details on the poster, including the time, date and location, will be added to your calendar.

The feature can also be used in conjunction with other AI tools such as ChatGPT to help with homework. The camera-control button, which is the button you will use to launch your camera and take photos with your iPhone, is another new addition.

"The camera control provides instant, easy access to the camera with just a click. It allows you to adjust various camera features simply by sliding your finger," Apple said during the event. "Its convenient design ensures it's always within reach."

The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will be available for preorder this Friday and available on Sept. 20.
