The new Beats x Kim Studio Pro come in earth (left), moon (middle) and dune (right). The earth color is lighter than the original deep brown color the headphones came in.

Beats did so well with 2022's Kim Kardashian special-edition Fit Pro earbuds that it's doing it again with its over-ear Studio Pro headphones, which I gave high marks to when they were released last year. Like the previous Beats x Kim collaboration, this one brings Kardashian's "signature" neutral color options -- moon (light), dune (medium) and earth (deep) -- to the Studio Pro headphones. The headphones are otherwise the same.

While Beats says its Beats x Kim Fit Pro earbuds became the brand's best-selling collaboration (they initially sold out on apple.com), these Beats x Kim special-edition headphones may be a harder sell at their list price of $350. That's because the standard version of the Studio Pro, which are available in black, deep brown, navy and sandstone, frequently sell for close to half off at around $180. The standard Fit Pro earbuds were being discounted by only $40 off their list price of $200 when the Kardashian versions hit the market in 2022, so there wasn't as big a price delta.

The dune color matched my skin tone fairly well.

As part of this latest Beats x Kim release, Beats is running a promotional campaign featuring Kardashian and Jimmy Fallon battling over new Studio Pro color options, with Fallon ostensibly supporting a "mustard" color, which I personally like. The whole thing may be an amusing marketing ploy, but it wouldn't shock me to see that Beats x Jim color available in the not-so-distant future.Â
