If you loved the so-cool-they're-hot, tropical hues of Miami Vice back in the 1980s, your time has come (back). At the Apple event on September 9, the company announced that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will come in the standard white and black (ho-hum) hues as well as teal (minty green), pink (and is it ever a bright pink), and ultramarine (an ocean blue color).

The new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will have a redesigned rear camera bump that aligns the sensors vertically, which enables them to record spatial video for viewing on Apple's Vision Pro headset.

The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will also have a new, dedicated camera shutter button, which Apple calls the camera control: press it to pop open the camera app, then slide your finger back and forth like a dial for changing zoom levels, aperture or other photography settings. The standard models also inherit the action button from last year's iPhone 15 Pro models, which lets you set custom shortcuts to open specific apps or tasks.

The new Apple phones can be preordered now, and will be available in stores as of Sept. 20. We're rounding up the best iPhone 16Apple Watch Series 10 and AirPods 4 deals at launch.

Of the new colors, the brilliant deep blue ultramarine earned some early social buzz.
Cool colors might not sell everyone on forking out hundreds of dollars for a new phone.
"Ultramarine is lit🔥 but my 14 pro max still flawless ... so I'll wait till 17gen then lol," wrote another X user.
