Three Razr phones

A teaser earlier this month for the new Motorola Razr.

Motorola

Motorola is expected to reveal its next-generation foldable phones on Thursday -- but promotional images for the base model have seemingly leaked right before the official announcement. New images of the Motorola Razr 60 were posted on X (formerly Twitter) by prolific leaker, evleaks, on Monday night.

The leaked photos -- which you can see on X -- are high-quality marketing imagery, suggesting that these will be representative of the Razr 60's final design.

According to the leaked pictures, the Razr 60 will be available in blue and lime green, with the option for a carbon fiber-type patterning. The new foldable phone could come in other colors, though they aren't included in the leaked marketing materials. The pictures also confirm the Razr 60 will have a camcorder mode, utilizing the fold to improve the photography and video experience for the phone.

While many details about the Razr 60 have not yet been revealed, we know the phone has a 7-inch internal display, a 4-inch cover display and a respectable 16GB of RAM. No promo images were leaked for the Razr 60 Ultra, but the display on the premium model will be larger to justify a more expensive price.

Foldables capture 'a younger part of the market'

Anshel Sag, a mobile analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy, explained that Motorola is capturing a key segment of the market with its foldable phones.

"This is a younger part of the market," Sag said. "They are capturing the most of this audience for Android users."

Sag said he believes the Razr 60 has the potential to do very well in the US market. "I think they will be very competitive. They were competitive last year, and I think they are driving a lot of the foldable market in the US," he said, adding that he expects Motorola will "continue to push the envelope on hardware and software differentiation" to separate its foldable phones from Samsung's offerings.

You can follow Motorola's reveals right here on CNET on April 26, though the company will also post to its X account and YouTube channel.

A representative for Motorola didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
