TCL's NxtPaper phone line has focused primarily on reading over the past few years, but its new phone debuting at CES 2026 wants to become even more like a notebook.

The TCL NxtPaper 70 Pro, announced by the company on Monday, can pair with a pressure-sensitive T-Pen stylus to add a writing experience that goes alongside the paperlike reading modes that have been available on prior NxtPaper devices.

The NxtPaper 70 Pro also debuts TCL's MuseFilm technology for photos, with the company stating that it can enhance photos taken by the 50-megapixel main camera and 32-megapixel selfie camera. During a briefing, TCL said the MuseFilm should be capable of providing bokeh effects for portrait-style photos as well as a more cinematic look for images.

The phone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor and be available with either 256GB or 512GB of storage, depending on the model. It will have a 5,200mAh battery, 33W fast charging and IP68 water and dust resistance.

Initially, the TCL NxtPaper 70 Pro will cost 339 euros (approximately $400) for the 256GB model, with availability starting in February. The T-Pen stylus will be sold separately from the phone. The device is planned to eventually come to North America as well as international markets.
