The drivers are revving up for what looks set to be the most competitive Formula One season in decades.Â
Max Verstappen comes into the 76th F1 Drivers' Championship as the favorite, with the Red Bull star looking to clinch a fifth title in a row -- a feat that would see him match F1 legend Michael Schumacher's record for the most consecutive wins.Â
Verstappen wasn't at his seemingly unbeatable best last year, however, and an old foe with a new team will be looking to end his winning streak.
Now at Ferrari after 12 glittering years at Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton will also be looking to make a piece of history of his own this term. The British driver is currently level with Schumacher on seven titles and aiming to be the standalone record holder.Â
Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri helped McLaren win the F1 World Constructors' Championship in 2024, with Ferrari runners-up. Both teams are expected to battle it out for top spot once more, while a new-look Red Bull, with the addition of Liam Lawson, will be determined to improve upon last season's third-placed finish.Â
We've broken down everything you need to know on how to stream every F1 race this season.
Having made the switch to Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton will be hoping he can claim his first F1 Drivers' Championship title since 2020.Â
The 2025 Formula One season: When and where?
The 2025 Formula One season takes place between March and December and encompasses 24 races, beginning with the Australian Grand Prix on March 9 and ending with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Dec. 7. A full list of Grands Prix for the 2025 season can be found at the bottom of this page.Â
Livestream the 2025 Formula One season in the US
Every Formula One race during the 2025 season is scheduled to be televised on ESPN, ESPN2 or ABC. All practice and qualifying sessions and all F1 Sprint events will also be broadcast.Â
Selected races will stream on ESPN Plus, which will feature two alternate streams for all races (Driver Tracker and mixed onboard cameras).Â
Whether you have cable, ESPN's standalone streaming service is great for casual fans of F1 and is a must-have accessory for fanatics. It costs $11 a month (or $110 a year).Â
If you're an F1 fan who's also looking to get your Disney fix, the Disney trio bundle (Hulu, Disney Plus and ESPN Plus) might end up being an even better buy. It's great for fans who love catching the parts of the race weekend that typically air on EPSN2 or ESPNews, and also want the latest Marvel movies or Star Wars shows.
If you're a diehard fan of motorsports and Formula Series racing, ESPN Plus might not be for you, given that it rarely covers F2, F3 or Porsche Supercar racing. That's why ESPN Plus is ideal for casual fans who enjoy catching a race every once in a while or fans who don't want or need all of the extra bells and whistles of F1 TV but want to beef up their coverage options.
Sling TV's Orange plan includes ESPN and ABC (via ESPN3). Enter your address here to see which local channels are available where you live.Â
Fubo costs at least $92 per month when you factor in the RSN fees it charges. Fubo's base plan costs $80 but it charges an extra $12 a month if you get one RSN or $15 a month if you have two or more in your area. How to watch F1 online from anywhere with a VPN
If you find yourself unable to view Formula One action locally, you may need a different way to watch the games -- that's where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds on game day by encrypting your traffic, and it's also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins.Â
With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the game. Most VPNs, like our Editors' Choice, ExpressVPN, make it really easy to do this.Â
Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you're streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.Â
ExpressVPN is our current best VPN pick for people who want a reliable and safe VPN, and it works on a variety of devices. It's normally $13 a month, but if you sign up for an annual subscription for $100, you'll get three months free and save 49%. That's the equivalent of $6.67 a month.
Note that ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Quick tips for streaming the races using a VPNÂ
- With four variables at play -- your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN -- your experience and success when streaming F1 races may vary.
- If you don't see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the "search for city or country" option.
- If you're having trouble getting the game after you've turned on your VPN and set it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs -- like Roku -- don't have VPN apps you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you'll have to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you're using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct viewing location.
- All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases, with smart TV services, after you install a cable network's sports app, you'll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. Having a VPN on your router will also help since both devices will appear to be in the correct location.Â
- And remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so be sure you're using a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We normally recommend Brave.
