It's exciting enough that the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held across North America in June and July (enter that random selection draw now if you want tickets), but in the lead-up to the tournament, FIFA has made another fun announcement: It's partnered with Netflix on a new video game. The streaming giant shared the news on Wednesday on its Tudum fan site.
Produced by Delphi Interactive, the game is set to launch in 2026, although a specific release date has not been confirmed. The soccer simulation game promises a "newly reimagined" format for fans, so one assumes it'll have a distinct look and feel that separates it from the previous iterations of the FIFA games produced by EA Games. (EA Games and FIFAÂ parted ways after the release of FIFA 23.)
In a statement released by Netflix, FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed his excitement about the digital venture. "This major collaboration is a key milestone in FIFA's commitment to innovation in the football gaming space, which aspires to reach billions of football fans of all ages everywhere in the world and will be redefining the pure notion of simulation games," Infantino said.Â
The game will be available exclusively on Netflix Games for subscribers in certain countries (you can check here to see if Netflix Games is available to you). Using your phone as a controller, you can play it on your TV or computer. There will be a solo mode, or players can link up with friends online; you just need a Netflix subscription.Â
