SAN FRANCISCO--SWsoft, whose Virtuozzo product divides a computer into several largely independent partitions that the company calls virtual private servers, released software this week at the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo that lets administrators move existing installations to its software foundation.
This physical-to-virtual (P2V) tool matches one already sold by rival VMware, a subisidiary of EMC. In addition, the company updated its control center software to permit the cloning of virtual private servers.
